History 310 2010

Assignments for South African History from Prof. Landau, an attempt to slow down time and represent pioneer settler colonists in southern Africa in an actual working context. Log book of a trek in 1881 to bring something from somewhere to somewhere else in Africa . . . you figure it out as we go along. (Captured from the Zimbabwe National Archives in 2001)

About Me

Paul Landau
Assoc. Prof. of History, University of Maryland. Two words are "bleeped." They are expletives for Africans, one beginning with N, the other (more frequent in South Africa) with K. Three words are reconstructed from dashed words: B-----, D------, and H---, and so are in effect "unbleeped." The rest is absolutely verbatim to the existing logbook in the ZNA.
